It was a pleasure finally getting to meet you at the MIA conference
this past September. Your newsletter is one of the few which
I can honestly say I look forward to getting. I greatly appreciate
your scholarship and balanced approach to the issues. I also
thank you for permission to use your materials on TNN.

I wanted to thank you for including the article by Bill Britton
in the last issue. His rendering of Elisha's story brought great
encouragement to me as I read it through sobs and tears. Our Father
knows our every need.

We've enjoyed seeing Shoshanna here in Jerusalem. I think she
has made friends now and is well on her way. She is a sweet girl.
We have prayed for your little one, Autumn Sunshine, and admire
your positive attitude. Keep the newsletters coming.

Thank you for sharing what you have learned with my family through
your publication and the services we have attended while visiting
family in Peoria. Your articles continually cause me to evaluate
my beliefs about G-d, teach ings of the Bible and more. I believe
I've begun to switch from having eyes that don't see and ears
that don't hear to eyes that do see and ears that do hear. How
my views of G-d, myself and the world have changed.

We are blessed time and time again by your thought-provoking,
insightful articles. This wilderness experience we are going through
gets pretty lonely. We have no one near us that gets the picture.
Thank you so much for your teaching.

Thank you for the recent issue of Gates of Eden. We've really
enjoyed it and look forward to more. Reverend Twistruth is brilliant!!
Love it!

I really enjoy reading your articles and Rev. Twistruth always
puts a smile on my face. By the way, your cartoons have really
stepped on some toes around here [in a prison -DB]. You have quite
a following on this unit and all the brethren can't wait for the
next issue of Gates of Eden. Our Heavenly Father is pouring out
His Spirit on the men here and the Gates of Eden is introducing
these men to some of the real truths about the "old time religion."
The evil one sure gets mad when he is revealed for what he truly
is.

Please send me any information you have on Sabbath keeping. I
found your information on the Internet. For some 50+ years I have
worshiped on Sunday. God is now showing me the light.

Since, like many others, I'm inundated with material from a
number of min is tries, I'm going to cancel some of them. I was
going to cancel Gates of Eden, but your last issue was so good
I reconsidered. Some will go soon, but G.O.E. won't be among them.

My church is against wearing jewelry. We checked Bible references
and cannot see why it is wrong to wear jewelry as long as it's
worn modestly and the wearer is not idolizing the jewels. What
is your opinion on the wearing of jewelry from a Biblical perspective?
Israel was stripped [of her jewelry] when they sinned. God told
them in Exodus to put it on their children.

The fact that there are many passages of Scripture that speak
of jewelry in a positive way makes it pretty hard to condemn all
jewelry -- unless we take the "N.T.-only" approach and ignore
these passages and base our entire theology on 1 Peter 3:3 ("...whose
adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair,
or of wearing gold, or of putting on ap par el..."). Even if this
verse were the only thing the Bible said about jewelry, it would
be adding to the Word to say that this condemns the wearing of
any gold whatsoever. If this verse means that it is wrong to wear
any jewelry what so ev er, then we must also say that it is wrong
to wear any apparel what so ev er, for Peter also condemns the
"putting on of apparel" in this same verse. If the anti-jewelry
Christians want to be consistent, they'd better not put on any
apparel whatsoever, and go to church naked. The next verse of
Peter's instruction makes it clear that he is simply telling women
to be more concerned about the inward beauty of their character
than they are about the outward adornment of their bodies: "But
let it be the hidden man of the heart ... even the ornament of
a meek and quiet spirit." And if women today followed these instructions,
there would prob a bly be a lot less jewelry. -DB

I am very interested in your position on the rapture -- pre-,
mid-, post-?
